Now brought to you by wordpress

This evening I changed my website so that the entire thing is powered by Wordpress instead of just the blog. It took at least half an hour because of my own mistakes.
I’ve written them down in a notebook so I won’t forget the next time I do this. My set-up is a bit more complicated than necessary but I’ll worn on that when I finally do my re-design. Even with that, It’ll be nice not having to log into my server to make minor changes.

Hi Raven — I saw something about you on DC Web Women. I’m a consultant working with an author who has a book coming out and who needs a simple Web site ASAP.
My role is as project manager and since he’s not a geeky guy, I was wondering about whether it should be built in Wordpress so he can make any updates himself. He just registered his domain last night at godaddy.com.
I have a few questions:
- Do you have to pay Wordpress to point your domain to its CMS?
- Do you have to have hosting somewhere or do your files live at Wordpress?
- Is the WP CMS something average humans can work with or would he be better off just hiring someone to do content updates?
- What do you charge for content updates?
Thanks!
Maggy
